ユゴス(冥王星)で古のものが作成し、その後ムー大陸やエジプトを渡り歩き[3]、19世紀のプロヴィデンス(フェデラル・ヒル)[4]で「星の知恵派」教団の教会に安置された歴史を持つ[5]。覗き込んだ者に宇宙の彼方の光景を幻視させ[3]、引き換えに宿主の精神を捕食する[6]。

「覗き込むこと(知覚)が、そのまま向こうからの接触と危険を招く」という、観測と存在の両義的恐怖を物理的アイテムとして表現する。
